A study at the Boston University School of Medicine found that middle-aged adults who drink in moderation ranked better in four categories used to measure quality of life, reports the Irish Independent.
The study examined 5,404 Canadians, age 50, and found that those who drank moderately ranked higher in dexterity, emotion, cognition and mobility than those who did not.
“Overall, this study shows a positive relation between regular moderate alcohol intake and quality of life in middle-aged adults,’ the authors wrote.
Though the study looked only at middle-aged adults, I’m half that and personally find that a glass of wine with dinner does improve my mood, especially when I’m feeling stressed. That being said, drinking too much never improves my outlook’especially the morning after.
